Black Panther — An estimated $400 million in 10 days domestic box office

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a new crown jewel in it’s film roster — and the movie didn’t even feature an Infinity Stone. Black Panther has pulled in an estimated $400 million in it’s first 10 days in the Domestic Box Office.

BuzzFeed News & Box Office Mojo specifically have highlighted how in the first 10 days, Black Panther has outperformed even the last three major Avengers movies — The Avengers (2012), The Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), and Captain America: Civil War (2016).


The diverse cast & production team of Black Panther and the success the film has already achieved in just two weeks are reshaping Hollywood expectations to say the least. But reshaping perspectives is nothing new at Marvel — It’s been has been highlighting diversity since Marvel brought Luke Cage to Netflix in 2016, and of course since the comic origins of Black Panther.
